Exploring the cultural heritage of the area includes visiting La Casona de los Castro, an ancient 16th-century mansion currently being restored to create a visitor center; the 16th-century Hermitage of San Pedro, which houses an image of the Apostle in the island’s baroque style; and the Fortin de San Fernando, a defensive fortress from the late 18th century with cannons still preserved today, bearing witness to the battles against pirates.

The ruins of the Elevador de Aguas de Gordejuela, an ancient hydraulic pumping station built in 1903, will not leave visitors indifferent. This facility was a significant achievement of its time and played a key role in the development of the island's agricultural industry, supplying water to the banana plantations in the Orotava valley.
